Statistical Inference

Statistical inference (AS91264) is about using one random sample to say something sensible about a whole population you could never measure in full. You compare two groups — kiwifruit from two orchards, reaction times of two year groups — using box plots and an informal confidence interval for each population median, then decide whether the difference you can see in the samples is big enough to "make the call" back in the populations. The marks come from following the enquiry cycle (PPDAC), describing the distributions in context, building the intervals correctly, and writing an honest conclusion that respects sampling variability.
