Electricity and Electromagnetism (AS91173) is the other 6-credit external at Level 2 Physics. It has three parts:
- Static electricity — electric fields, and the force and energy of a charge sitting in one.
- DC circuits — current, voltage, resistance and power in series and parallel circuits.
- Electromagnetism — the forces between currents, charges and magnetic fields, and how a moving conductor generates a voltage.
Points to remember before you start:
- All formulae are on the resource sheet. Marks come from choosing the right one, substituting with units, and explaining the physics.
- Watch your units — currents in milliamps, charges in microcoulombs and distances in millimetres must be converted to A, C and m before substituting.
